In our Early Years Foundation Stage at Ridgeway Primary Academy, children learn and play together in a caring, supportive environment. They are provided with a wide range of experiences which develop their skills and knowledge across the curriculum.
We want our children to develop a love of learning and grow to be motivated and independent learners, who are prepared for the next stage of their education.
EARLY YEARS LEADER: Miss M Baker
If you have any questions regarding our Early Years, please contact out Academy Reception on the information found HERE.
NURSERY
Due to high demand we have created a fabulous new nursery environment for your children. In the large purpose created facility we have a wealth of exciting and engaging opportunities which mean your children make a flying start at Ridgeway. Nursery also has its own totally enclosed outdoor space with several zones for your children to develop their range of skills.
We currently offer parents 4 choices for their child's 15 free hours when starting nursery:
Morning sessions
Afternoon sessions
2.5 days (Monday all day, Tuesday all day and Wednesday morning)
2.5 days (Wednesday afternoon, Thursday all day and Friday all day)
Parents can choose to supplement these hours by purchasing half day sessions at an extra £10. Therefore if you wanted 'full time' nursery provision for your child it would cost £50 per week. Lunch is included in all sessions (half days and full days) as well as milk or water and snack.
We also now offer the 30 hours free childcare for those parents who are working. For more information please visit the TAX-FREE CHILDCARE page of the Government website, or pop into school and we can explain it all to you.
If you would like any more information please call school.

RECEPTION
We have two bright, vibrant and engaging classrooms for our Reception children. This excellent provision extends to outdoors where over £20,000 has been spent to ensure the learning indoors continues outdoors.
The curriculum is set up to ensure children are able to make excellent progress through experiences, hands on activities and skill progression.
